The Micro Academy is not tied to any school except FCA Online. It is located in the city of Carrollton at a separate location not a current campus of ours. It is located on a church campus in a building that is not in use by the church during the week FCA Online students are the only students on site.
Founders Classical Academy - Online students in Dallas-Fort Worth have an additional option to attend our Micro Academy in Carrollton. Micro Academy allows students to enjoy the flexibility of online learning with the social opportunities of the on-campus learning environment. Students can attend in person all 5 days, or a few days a week, and there are full-day and half-day options available (see below for additional information). While both online programs harness today’s technology, teachers are still at the center of our instructional experience. The program is focused on the classical liberal arts and sciences, with a strong emphasis on civic education and character development.
Our Micro Academy is an add-on option for families who are enrolled in FCA – Online. It provides additional facility, staff, and extracurricular programming to enrich the academic experience for our students – similar to that of a traditional brick-and-mortar campus. Our students will continue getting all the live instruction and support from FCA – Online, virtually, but allows them a space to come together to form a local learning community. |
Campus Talking Points: |
● FCA Online provides the same robust curriculum as our FCA brick-and-mortar programs (K-8)
● FCA Online provides a vibrant online learning experience through a blend of synchronous (live) and asynchronous (independent) learning. Students will not only engage in classical content but with classical teachers throughout the week.
● FCA Online students are able to participate in on-campus activities (through proper coordination between programs) at our brick-and-mortar campuses. These include clubs and sports.
● FCA Online students are required to take the STAAR test. We work to ensure students attend testing at the closest FCA campus to their home of record.
● FCA Online provides a classical learning experience where students can attend from anywhere as long as they have a computer and internet access. This allows for great access to a great curriculum. |
