ISVA Program Details:
iSchool Virtual Academy is a Texas Education Agency (TEA) accredited tuition-free, online public charter school. ISVA serves grades 3-12th for eligible students.
Attendance is taken through a mastery-based approach, meaning students get attendance through work completed on time. Students are not required to sit at a computer for a prolonged amount of time.
Teachers are online Monday-Thursday between 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and noon to 2:00 p.m. with a variation on Friday. There is also a Homework Help Line available from 10am-7pm Mon - Fri.
The curriculum offers flexible pacing so students may work on their coursework at any time, 24/7 with due dates outlined on their calendar. Work may be completed early so they can start their new courses. This allows students to catch up on credits or the opportunity to graduate early.

Can I accelerate or work ahead?
On a case-by-case basis, teachers may work with students to help them accelerate. There may be due dates on specific assignments that restrict working ahead too far. If students fall behind, our teachers will reach out and show due diligence. Teachers can offer Live Group Support with live screen sharing, custom configuration and project-based learning.

Will I have to take the STAAR Test?
we are a Texas public school and our students do take the STAAR test. Students will be assigned to the nearest physical ResponsiveEd school to you or a designated location for testing. It is the only thing that must be done in person, and is required.

What is a Success Coach?
A Success Coach will be assigned to each student once they are enrolled. They serve as the first line of support for student concerns including accessing coursework, overcoming academic struggles and offering assistance with access to academic support. Throughout the year, they will be monitoring academic performance, engagement, and will help guide students who are struggling with individual improvement plans.

How many credits can I earn per year?
At iSchool Virtual Academy, students may earn up to 10 credits per school year.
